By repurposing visual elements from Baroque art and layouts of online dating profiles, the work comments on the authenticity of online relationships. Unlike classic love portrayed in Baroque, modern love is often transactional and complicated, as shown in the text, inverted ‘send nudes’. Hence, by juxtaposing large brushstrokes and illustrative styles representing classic and modern love respectively, the work questions the viability of online dating in pursuing classic romance. The use of reflective text also encourages the audience to form their own opinions on online dating.
